ABOUT US

Team for Egalitarian Emancipation and Transformation (TEGET) is an association established in July 2023 to support the development of civil society organisations dealing with the protection of human rights and gross human rights violations. The TEGET team members have built their experience and expertise on years of working worldwide with civil society organisations from various post-conflict backgrounds and in different areas of transitional justice.

The TEGET team activities are focused primarily on all aspects of documenting human rights violations, digital security, and the application of new technologies to various human rights processes. Our mission is to share and transfer knowledge and expertise to enable civil society organisations with fewer resources to operate in a more egalitarian CS setting and, therefore, be more autonomous in their efforts to attain equality, liberation from injustice, to advocate for good governance and accountability, and promote positive and holistic social change.

AREA OF WORK

TEGET specialises in comprehensive documentation management, assisting civil society organisations in the meticulous recording, cataloguing, and analysis of human rights violations, ensuring that critical evidence is preserved for legal proceedings, advocacy efforts, and historical memory initiatives. Leveraging cutting-edge methodologies and technologies, TEGET empowers partner organisations to streamline their documentation processes, enabling them to effectively capture and convey the full scope and impact of human rights abuses.

TEGET prioritises digital security as a fundamental component of human rights work, providing tailored training, resources, and technical support to safeguard sensitive information and protect individuals and organisations from cyber threats, surveillance, and digital harassment. With a deep understanding of the evolving digital landscape, TEGET equips its partners with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate online risks, fortify their digital infrastructure, and uphold the principles of privacy, confidentiality, and online freedom in their human rights endeavours.

Recognizing the transformative potential of technology in advancing human rights, TEGET facilitates equitable access to cutting-edge tools, platforms, and resources, empowering marginalised communities and grassroots organisations to amplify their voices, mobilise for change, and leverage technology for social justice. Through strategic partnerships and capacity-building initiatives, TEGET fosters innovation and inclusivity, bridging the digital divide and enabling underserved populations to harness the power of technology to address systemic injustices and promote human dignity.

TEGET serves as a hub for knowledge exchange and capacity development, fostering collaboration, learning, and skill-building among civil society actors working in the field of transitional justice and human rights protection. Drawing on its network of experts and practitioners, TEGET facilitates dynamic training workshops, peer-to-peer exchanges, and resource-sharing initiatives, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and empowerment to strengthen the collective impact of the human rights community.

In addition to its core focus areas, TEGET remains flexible and responsive to emerging challenges and opportunities within the realm of human rights and transitional justice, adapting its support and interventions to address evolving needs and contexts. Whether advocating for institutional reforms, promoting youth education and engagement, or advancing the rule of law, TEGET remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering equality, justice, and positive social change, wherever it may be needed most.
